Managed cybersecurity for Australian businesses
Why it matters
Security that can be shown, not just assumed
Most businesses believe they are reasonably secure until someone asks them to prove it. An insurer renewal, a large customer's supplier questionnaire or a board question about ransomware quickly shows whether MFA is really enforced everywhere, whether backups can be restored and whether anyone would notice an attacker in the network.
Managed cybersecurity is a dedicated service that answers those questions and closes the gaps. It builds on the baseline in our managed IT security and goes further: a formal assessment against the ACSC Essential Eight, monitoring and alerting, a vulnerability management cycle and a tested incident response plan.

Co-managed security for businesses with internal IT
Many mid-sized businesses have capable IT staff who are fully occupied keeping systems running. Security work, such as Essential Eight uplift, vulnerability reviews and incident planning, keeps getting pushed back. Co-managed security splits the work: your team keeps day-to-day IT and we take on the security programme, with responsibilities written down so nothing falls between the two.

Outsourced vs co-managed security
| Fully outsourced | Co-managed | |
|---|---|---|
| Who does the day-to-day IT | We do, usually as part of managed IT | Your internal IT team |
| Who owns the security programme | We do, reporting to you | We do, working with your team |
| Changes to systems | Made by us | Agreed split: some by us, some by your team |
| Alert handling | We review and respond | Shared, with escalation paths agreed in writing |
| Best for | Businesses without IT staff | Businesses with IT staff who need security depth |
| Main risk to manage | Dependence on one provider | Unclear responsibilities, solved by a written responsibility matrix |

FAQ
Managed cybersecurity: common questions
What is managed cybersecurity?
It is an ongoing security service: Essential Eight assessment and uplift, security monitoring and alerting, vulnerability management, incident response planning and regular reporting, delivered fully outsourced or co-managed with your IT team.
How is it different from managed IT security?
Managed IT security is the baseline built into our managed IT service. Managed cybersecurity adds a formal Essential Eight assessment, dedicated monitoring, vulnerability scanning and incident response planning, and works whether or not we run your day-to-day IT.
Do you provide 24/7 monitoring?
Not directly. Where 24/7 monitoring is needed, we arrange it through a specialist provider and manage that relationship as part of the service.
Which Essential Eight maturity level should we aim for?
The ACSC asks organisations to choose a target maturity level that suits their environment and the threats they face. Commonwealth government entities are required to reach Maturity Level Two, and many businesses use that as a reference point. The right target also depends on your customers' expectations and any contractual requirements. We help you choose and then plan the steps.
Can you work with our existing security tools?
Usually, yes. We review what you already have and only recommend changes where a tool is not doing its job or is missing.
Do you help after an incident?
Yes. We follow the incident response plan to contain and recover, and help you work through notification obligations and insurer requirements. For larger incidents we help coordinate specialist forensic support.
Need to know where your security really stands?
Start with an Essential Eight assessment. We will tell you plainly what is in place and what to fix first.
