AWS Network Firewall configuration and management for Australian businesses running workloads in AWS.

AWS Network Firewall in Australian businesses

AWS Network Firewall configuration in Australia for businesses running workloads in Amazon Web Services. SyncBricks designs inspection VPCs, stateful and stateless rule groups, Suricata-compatible rules and central policy with AWS Firewall Manager, connects logging to GuardDuty and Security Hub, and manages the result as part of our managed IT security service.

A managed network firewall for AWS VPC traffic. Often used on its own for AWS workloads, or alongside third-party firewalls in an inspection VPC where deeper application inspection is required.

FAQ

AWS Network Firewall firewall questions

Is AWS Network Firewall enough for our AWS workloads?

For many AWS workloads it is. Where you need deeper application inspection, or policy that matches on-premises firewalls, a Palo Alto or FortiGate virtual appliance in AWS is a common alternative or addition. We recommend based on your architecture and how you want to operate it.

Can you deploy AWS Network Firewall as code?

Yes. We deploy with Terraform or CloudFormation and keep rules in source control, so changes are reviewed, versioned and can be rolled back.

Does AWS Network Firewall work with GuardDuty?

They complement each other. GuardDuty detects threats from logs and activity, while Network Firewall filters traffic. We send firewall logs to your logging account, connect findings through Security Hub, and set up alerts so issues are followed up as part of managed IT security.

What affects the cost of AWS Network Firewall?

AWS charges for each firewall endpoint per hour and for traffic processed, so costs grow with the number of availability zones and data volume. Configuration effort depends on the number of accounts, VPCs and rules, and whether ongoing management is included. We estimate both after a review.
